  I wouldn't mind some 40K action. Never been to Game Wizard though. If there's kiddies there, why not relocate to either Cardhauz or my place? I've actually been pondering sending out an invite for a 40k fest for next weekend, as I still need a few more days of painting to get my Guardians ready.

  So I invited our receptionist, Kelly, and her boyfriend to come have dim sum with us on Sunday. Jon doesn't like her cause she's pretty and nice, but I figured the rest of you might appreciate those qualities. She's not sure if they can make it, but she'll let me know.

  There was a time when computer games didn't have graphics. Or at least they couldn't have graphics and sound at the same time. They certainly couldn't have graphics, sound and enough content to keep even a human being amused for more than a few minutes. So they had text. This was radical - a computer game you could control by typing in commands. The game would then respond to your commands with a breathtakingly prescient understanding of your intent. Or not. Usually not - the early text parsers (circa 1977) weren't that bright. But, as long as you limited yourself to what the game understood and the game designers wrote creatively enough to misunderstand you in a humorous and entertaining fashion, it all worked. It therefore stands to reason that any game which combined a really good programmer with a really good writer was likely to do well. So when Steve Meretzky of Infocom got together with Douglas Adams to create a game based around the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the result was never going to be less than interesting and more than likely insane.

  From Panicware comes the Pop-Up Stopper, a free program that stops popup adds from launching.

The one drawback I've noticed is that it also stops the "Blog This!" and "Post" buttons for this page from opening, being popup windows in themselves. However, you can either get the $20 version which is configurable to allow certain windows, or just turn it off for a sec when you want to post, which is what I plan on doing.

  Hi all,

Well, we have gotten through the NW Qualifier and are now ready to get back
to our regular, weekly game play. Donovan should be posting the results of
the tournament and the top nine deck lists to his site shortly.

We have just been infomed that we have received sanctioning approval for 7
sanctioned VTES tournaments this month. These will all be held at Cardhaus
Games Tournament Center in the U. District. Tournaments are scheduled for
Mondays and Wednesdays at 7pm beginning tomorrow (April 3rd). There will
probably be a $5 entry for each tournament. Cardhaus Games is running the
events, so I do not have all of the details yet.

  So, as suspected, I was the only girl at the play test last night. But other than that, I am not allowed to say anything, per the NDA I signed. Though as I was sitting in my car, I saw Erik's double go into the building. I think he works there as he was not at the play test. However, a guy who could have been Pete's younger brother was. It was an odd night for look a likes.
